We are very practical at Seeds of Italy and we hate waste - we live in a disposable society, and we hate that fact. Also, it is true that most schools in Italy have a veg patch and it's way of life, but in the UK we're seeing a leap in interest and requests from schools for a veg patch so that the children learn first hand about growing veg.
Children that grow veg, eat veg.
So the scheme is simple - we have returned seed packs from outlets where the packs are dog eared or faded, but the seeds are fine. We'll send 7 packs of these seeds, a catalogue and a sowing manual (all subject to availability) to a school of your choosing, one pack per school. We may add other items to the pack if we can. The catalogue contains recipes from celebrity chefs to inspire - veg growing is cool with Franchi Seeds of Italy !!
We've decided to charge a small price for this just to cover the P&P.
Our Seeds for Schools scheme isn't a marketing ploy - we have a large box of seeds and your childs school just needs a small area - 3sqm would be perfect but less or even pots and containers would suffice. The benefits and longterm effects could be very positive and it's clear that our environment needs all the help we can give it.
Due to massive demand, we are unable to supply everyone with the sowing manuals and posters but will try to do so when we have them.
