Black summer truffle tree - Mainland UK *from Mid Jan 2018*
Mainland UK ONLY. Tuber Aestivum Vittad. - Commonley called Scorzone Truffles in Italy, black summer or English truffles. Found in Europe, but most commonly Italy, France and Spain. The easiest of all truffles for cultivation and the only truffle harvested in the summer. The Soil PH should be within 6.8-8.0. Woody areas or areas with some existing trees, especially oak, ash or poplar are ideal, and the truffles may spread to these other trees, but an unused part of the garden is ideal too as truffles don't like compacted soil. A very good truffle with a low/mid price, but excellent none-the-less. Summer truffles and eggs are famous, but excellent with meats, pasta and potatoes especially, and grated 50/50 into parmesan or olive oil. Harvest Jun-Sept. UK ONLY (NOT USA).
