Why grow any orher strawberry?
We have grown 'four seasons' since 2004. We grow as in bed with the bushy plants 12" x 18" and keep well hoed. It's not two crops!!! It crops continuously May through to as late as late as November, but June to September peak. The plants produce max of three seasons, so set some new each year (prolific self seeder....no runners) The fruits are under the leaves so avoids the worst bird prdation, and as bushy, off ground, so botritus & slugs not problem. Beware peasants though, will sit in rows eating the fruit!!! The fruit has intense strawberry flavour sweet when well ripe but without loosing tartness. The fruits though small are fleshy and so prolific that enough can be picked for use as desert fruit. Makes great wine!
